The fingerprint technology used by this high tech biometric safe simply requires a fingertip scan to provide quick and easy access.



Power Override Box

The FW-1814Z biometric safe has to be opened to install four (4) AA batteries in the black box located in the back of the door, inside the safe. This is a straightforward procedure that requires the wall safe to be in an upright position, not laying down. The FW-1814Z biometric safe comes with a power override box that is used to open the safe for the first time.

Wake-up Button - Right of Slot

Firstly, place four AA batteries in the power override box and plug it into the hole located on the door below and to the left of the fingerprint reader. Then press the wake-up button located on the scanner located at the right of the fingerprint slot and place a finger on the glass scanner until the LED turns green followed by a long beep. The safe door will slowly spring open. With the door open install the four AA batteries inside the door of the biometric safe.


Setup Button

To enroll fingerprints to the biometric safe memory open the safe as already outlined.  When the safe door is open locate the red setup button located on the back of the door and press. The scanner will begin to flash red. While the scanner flashes red, immediately place your finger (preferably your index) flat on the fingerprint scanner.

Wait until the scanning process is completed and the green LED goes on twice with two beeps. Remove your finger from the scanner; your fingerprint is now recorded. The FW-1814Z biometric safe is able to store thirty different fingerprints by repeating the procedure described.

Fingerprints can be deleted but the catch is that all users must be deleted. You cannot delete individual users. To delete fingerprints stored in the biometric safes memory the wall safe must be initialized back to factory settings. The initialization process is very straightforward and only takes a minute or two.

 To close the safe, push and hold the door shut, press the wake-up button and wait until the safe is locked. When the biometric safes door is closed the locking bolts can be heard extending to the locked position.
