The TC-01K - A Quality Constructed Class B-Rated Drop Safe

The TC-01K drop safe is a B-rated safe having a dual key lock complimented by a spring loaded re-locker to resist brute force entry by amateur and skilled attackers. Provision of pre-drilled anchoring holes, anchoring hardware and inclusion of a saw-toothed baffle stop thieves from ‘fishing’ for the safe’s contents or simply walking off with the drop safe.

To attain a class B security rating the drop safe construction must be a minimum quarter (inch ¼”) thick steel on all five sides and be equipped with a half inch (1/2”) solid steel door. While this may sound simplistic, the thicker the steel used the greater the protection for your valuables and yet many safe manufacturers use 12 gauge (7/64”) steel to make a drop safe and many classify a premium safe as having 10 gauge (9/64”) steel . The body of a TC-01K drop safe is constructed of ¼” thick steel,  two and a half time thicker than 12 gauge steel and twice as thick as the steel used in a  ‘premium’ branded safe. The door of the TC-01K drop safe is one and three quarters inch (1 ¾”) thick with a ½’ solid steel plate. Many drop safe doors may appear well constructed but in reality the construction is sheet rock sandwiched between two layers of 12-gauge steel providing an overall steel thickness of only three sixteenths (3/16) of an inch. The steel used in the construction of the TC-01K drop safe is definitely that required for a class B rating.

Like all good safes the TC-01K drop safe comes with a re-locker to keep the safe locked when attacked by a burglar. The spring loaded re-locker consists of a hardened pin and tensioned spring held in place by a plate, which, when released by someone attacking the drop safe locks the door in place. No safe this size is secure unless secured to the floor, a workbench or counter. The TC-01K drop safe comes standard with four pre-drilled anchoring holes and the hardware required to secure the safe. To stop would be thieves from accessing drop safes via the opening and “fishing” out the contents, drop safes will have either a baffle attached to the slot, a hinged hopper similar to bank deposit safes or a rotary hopper mounted on its top. The TC-01K drop safe has been designed with a saw-toothed baffle to prevent ‘fishing’.
For its size, the heavy-duty construction of the Class B rated TC-01K drop safe provides a high level of security without compromising ease of use by customers. This ease of use makes it a great choice for convenient stores, hotels, motels, churches, gas stations, car washes and restaurants
